CATS Students

The CATS trainees are well qualified and highly motivated grade 11 school leavers or mature candidates with work experience who meet the CATS entry requirements. Companies wishing to participate will then be able to invite prospective trainees from the pool of successful candidates and invite these for an interview. Equally, the successful candidates may indicate their preferences in terms of company and city to allow the CATS coordinator to help suggest and place candidates with specific enterprises. Should there be a successful match between candidate and company, both parties sign a traineeship contract for a period of two years. Each summer a new intake is recruited, usually consisting of about 25 students. During the programme the students work at the company for four days a week (Monday to Thursday) and spend one and a half days (Friday and Saturday half day) at an institution (currently the Namibia University of Science and Technology) offering theoretical studies.
